For anyone who doesn't know the Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks have a huge rivalry.  It goes back for a while now so games between these 2 teams are always fun to watch.  10 days ago the Canucks beat the Blackshawks 6-2.  Tonight the Blackhawks beat the Canucks 5-1.

Vancouver's Jannik Hansen opened up the scoring 38 seconds into the 2nd period.  From then on it was all about the Hawks.  By the end of the 2nd period it was 2-1 Hawks.  The Hawks went on to score 3 more in the 3rd with Cory Schneider between the pipes.  A few interesting things about this game:  Luo is injured, back up Canucks goalie Cory Schneider was in net and Schneider's back up was Eddie Lack from the farm team in Chicago (the only mandatory players on a team are 2 goalies, when a players is called up it means they are coming from the farm team in the AHL)  Chris Higgins took a penalty which almost never happens and Steve Montodar, who hasn't scored in ages, got the 5th goal for the Hawks.  The Hawks usual suspects showed up tonight.  Kane, Toews and Sharp all scored goals and Kane and Toews also registered assists.  Kane and Toews are 2 of the strongest players in the league as far as I am concerned. These teams meet up 2 more times this year.  They will both be games to watch.

The Montreal Canadiens shut out the Carolina Hurricanes 4-0.  A few things about this game: it was Erik Cole's 1st game as a Canadien against his former team the Hurricanes and P.K. Subban scored his 1st goal this season.  Let's face it, the Montreal Canadiens know how to pick players, they always have a strong team and former Canadiens have the ability to light it up on other teams.  Take LaPierre and Higgins for example.  Both former Canadiens both now playing for the Canucks and 2 of the most constant players the Canucks have.  C'est Bon!  Go Montreal!

After the Lucic hit on Miller Saturday night, Miller has been out with a concussion leaving the net wide open for back up goalie Jhonas Enroth.  Enroth went into this game with 6 wins and 0 loses.  Not a bad start as back up to one of the best goalies in the NHL, Ryan Miller.  Enroth fell a little short tonight but that is all part of the learning process.  The New Jersey Devils scored the first 2 goals then Buffalo got one to end the 1st 2-1.  New Jersey got 1 in the 2nd.  In the 3rd the scoring went New Jersey, Buffalo, New Jersey and Buffalo for a 5-3 final.  The interesting bit of this game, we got to see the back up to the back up goalie in net.  Buffalo's call up Drew MacIntyre played just over 5 minutes in the 3rd.  Buffalo is really being tested but that is hockey.  Wait for Miller to make his return and wait for another game between Buffalo and Boston.  They play each other again November 23rd in Buffalo.  Lucic better watch his back because anything can happen when a goalie is involved.

Next Canucks game Sunday November 20th at home against the Ottawa Senators.
