There were only 5 games played in the NHL last night, here is a quick recap.
Picture
The Vancouver Canucks beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-1.  David Booth (left in the photo) scored the opening goal for the Canucks 13 seconds into the 1st period.  It was Booth's 3rd goal in 3 games.  Booth might have scored that goal quick but he took 4 seconds to long for the record.  Trevor Linden holds the Canuck record for fastest goal at 9 seconds into the period.  Jannik Hansen scored the 2nd goal for Vancouver with what was the momentum shift goal and the game winning goal.  Chris Higgins (right in the photo) in his return back to his team after missing 6 games picked up an assist on Alex Burrows empty net goal.  Higgins and Burrows raced for the puck in the last minute, Higgins ended up protecting Burrows from a Colorado D-Man and Burrows could get the shot on net.  Vancouver has managed to pick up points in their last 11 games.  Vancouver is 2nd in the west with 78 points and leading their division by 16 points.  Colorado is out of a playoff spot by 3 points with 60 points. Watch Burrows and Higgins race down the ice and score below!

The Ottawa Senators beat the Florida Panthers 6-2!  Six different Senators scored including team Captain Daniel Alfredsson.  Jason Spezza helped out on 3 Ottawa goals for a 3 point night himself.  Florida is leading their division with 65 points and does have a playoff spot because of this, while Ottawa is sitting at 7th place with 68 points.
The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in overtime.  Joffrey Lupul opened the scoring for Toronto and Edmonton's KIDS helped out.  Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle scoring 2 of the Edmonton goals.  Toronto right now is 8th in the east with 64 points.  Edmonton is 14th with 50 points and 13 points out of a playoff spot.

Jordan Staal scored the only goal for Pittsburgh.  It was Staal's 2nd game playing since missing 15 with a knee injury.  It is also his 2nd goal in 2 games.  Corey Perry and Teemu Selanne scored for Anaheim in the win.  Pittsburgh is sitting 5th in the east with 69 points.  Anaheim is making a run for a playoff spot.  Even though the team is 13th they are only 6 points out of a spot right now.  Anaheim has 57 points and the Phoenix Coyotes which sit 8th in the west have 63.

Tyler Seguin (to your left) scored the only goal in a shootout for a 4-3 Boston Bruins victory.  Boston had a 3-1 lead after the 2nd period and Montreal came back to tie it up with goals by Max Pacioretty and Erik Cole in the 3rd period.  Boston is 2nd in the east with 72 points and Montreal is 12th and 8 points out of a playoff spot with 56 points.
