Sunday night in hockey not uber eventful.  Canucks played their annual game against the Ottawa Senators.  Canuck Team Captain Henrik Sedin opened up the scoring after a 0-0 score at the end of the 1st.  End of the 2nd 1-0 Canucks.  Ottawa came back at the start of the 3rd to tie up the game.  Then nothing.  Into Over time it was.  With the super cute Chris Higgins in front of Ottawa goalie Alex Auld, BC boy Dan Hamhuis rocketed the puck towards the net and Higgins was able to deflect it into the net !  Final 2-1 Canucks.  This was Higgins 7th goal this season, Hamhuis's 8th assist and Sami Salo picked up the other assist making his total 7.  Go Canucks.  They now hit the road playing Colorado, Phoenix, and San Jose.

Saturday night in the NHL was nutty to say the least.  Goals were being scored right, left and center.  And surprisingly it was the teams not expected to win scoring!

The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Washington Capitals 7-1.  Toronto opened up the scoring then Washington answer to tie it up and then you can leave the rest to Toronto.  Six more goals followed for the Leafs.  Phil Kessel with a few more points.  The Leafs did play the Carolina Hurricane on sunday night and lost 3-2.  But who needs to talk about that.  Washington was off to such a great start this season and now are on a 3 game losing streak.  Where is Ovechkin?

The Montreal Canadians shut out the New York Rangers saturday night.  Final score 4-0.  That makes 5 shutouts for Montreal's #1 goal tender Carey Price this season.  Amazing!

The Edmonton Oilers showed the Chicago Blackhwaks who was boss saturday night.  9-2 was the final.  Edmonton opened up the scoring then Chicago tied it up.  Then Edmonton scored 6 goals in a row.  Yeah Buddy!  Chicago came up with another goal to make it 7-2.  But nothing could stop Edmonton who notched 2 more.  The Edmonton crowd could be heard saying "We want 10, we want 10" what a great game to have been at.  Interesting stats about this game: Cutie Taylor Hall scored his 2nd career hat trick, the last time the Oilers scored 9 goals in a game was a 10-1 victory over the Calgary Flames in November 1996, and between Hall, Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins they collected 12 points that night!  Nugent-Hopkins had his best game of his young career getting 5 points alone.  These KIDS!  Man oh Man!  Fun to watch and so super cute.  Go Edmonton!
