Who picks up pucks? Who runs one last drill? And what did I find on Youtube by some local Vancouver boys? No NHL but I am laughing out loud!

This video is too good!  Please enjoy.  It gave me a huge laugh!

Hopefully this puck bag isn't empty to much longer.
Hello Everyone!  How are you?  What can I say?  I hope you all enjoyed the video above.  When I stumbled across it I had to watch.  I was laughing out loud.

In other news the NHLPA has given a new CBA (collective bargaining agreement) proposal to the NHL.  Now it is the waiting game to see if the NHL will work with it or reject it. Since they have had the proposal in their hands for more than 5 minutes I feel this one is getting some thought. The last time the NHLPA handed the NHL proposals they gave 3 different options and it took the NHL only 10 minutes to dismiss all 3 of them.  Fingers crossed the ball is rolling a faster now and we can all get our Christmas wish and have the NHL back!

A couple weeks ago I took a friend of mine Sara to hockey practice.  We were having a catch up before she got back on a plane to Ghana for 3 months.  I wasn't sure if she would be interested in practice but thought I would run the idea by her.  She was completely up for it and I have to say it was one of the best practices I had been to in a while.

When we got to the rink Sara started asking me questions about the players on the ice.  The usual suspects were there including Daniel and Henrik Sedin, Chris Higgins. Willie Mitchell, Tanner Glass, Dan Hamhuis, Cory Schneider, Rod Pelley, James Reimer, Jim Vandemeer and Kevin Bieksa.  Sara and I sat down at center ice and as she asked questions and pointed out players I would give her the run down on who they are and where they are from.  Sara also asked about the lockout.  I explained it in the simplest way I could.   Perhaps the best part of practice was when Sara said to me after watching these guys skate that she was going to enjoy watching a game so much more.  Watching them practice and seeing what the players do during a game but in slower fashion can really open up your eyes to how skilled these players are and how fantastic the sport of hockey is.

As a shot out to Sara and a thank your for letting me drag her to practice I dedicate this post and all of the fun pictures below to Sara!  Thanks for coming wonderful friend and yes, when you get back from Ghana and the NHL season starts lets watch a game together!  X

The view from above. On the left in black is Tanner Glass and in white is Henrik Sedin watching a play unfold. On the right Chris Higgins in black and Daniel Sedin in white tapping their sticks on the ice and boards to show support for a well deserved goal.

UBC head coach Milan Dragicevic and one of my favourite people to watch during practice.

There are two things I have noticed that look to have been taken from Rogers Arena here in Vancouver. One being the puck bag full of pucks the second is this "Official Coaching Board of the National Hockey League."

But when the "Official Coaching Board of the National Hockey League" is not there the glass works just fine. I found 3 different plays written on the glass during practice.

Manny Malhotra running one more drill at the end of practice.

It never fails, you can always rely on a few guys to pick up the pucks post practice.

And that is a wrap on practice. Time to sweep up and move on out!
